The Oracle Challenger Series was established in 2017 as a way to support up-and-coming American tennis players through opportunities to secure both ranking points and prize money. The 2018-2019 Series begins in Chicago at the XS Tennis Village on September 2-9, with additional events to be announced at a later date. Each Series event awards equal prize money per Tour, with the top Americans also competing for wildcards into the BNP Paribas Open. Read more about the Oracle Challenger Series.
The top two American women’s and men’s points-getters over the course of the Series receive wildcards into their respective singles main draws at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California.
The BNP Paribas Open is the largest combined ATP World Tour Masters 1000 and WTA Premier Mandatory tennis event in the world. It is hosted annually at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden near Palm Springs in the city of Indian Wells, California. The top Americans from the Oracle Challenger Series (two men and two women) will be granted wildcard entry into the main draw at the BNP Paribas Open.
Each tournament in the Series is classified as WTA 125 and ATP World Tour Challenger events, with prize money awarded equally at $150,000 per Tour per event.
All Oracle Challenger Series events are free and open to the public.
The Oracle Challenger Series builds on Oracle’s commitment to help support U.S. tennis at both the professional and collegiate level. Oracle sponsors the Oracle US Tennis Awards, two $100,000 grants awarded annually to assist young players as they transition from college into the professional ranks. In addition to sponsoring the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, Oracle also hosts the Oracle ITA Masters tournament in Malibu, California and the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships which will be held at the Surprise Tennis Center in Surprise, Arizona in 2018.
